50週年紀念

五十年的昨天是英國伊莉莎白女王的登基日。這幾天倫敦、英國各地有好多慶祝活動（雖然大多數的英國人比較關心世界杯足球賽），無奈我有要事在身必須要待在房間裡，要不然我也去跟人家湊熱鬧了！不知道為什麼，伊莉莎白女王登基五十年的事讓我聯想到清朝乾隆皇帝的在位六十年，大概都是整數吧？這也是中國歷史上唯一我目前還記得的的皇帝在位年數！想想國中背了這麼多，沒用的歷史知識最後只剩下乾隆皇帝背後的小故事，讓我牢牢記得他的在位年數。
讓我想起我蒐集的一張紐西蘭郵票。這張郵票是1997年紐西蘭郵局為了紀念伊莉莎白女王結婚五十週年而發行的。紐西蘭離英國天遙地遠，但還是把英國當作母親一樣景仰，尤其是英國皇室。可是說老實話，在紐西蘭能在媒體上接觸到英國皇室的機會非常少，大概就是在女性雜誌上看到皇室的八卦（像是黛安娜王妃啦），或是每天要領錢付錢時才會在鈔票硬幣上接觸到伊莉莎白女王的人頭像，而且還有分年輕和年老後的側面像，很有趣，連皇冠也不一樣。

Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, KG, RN were married at Westminster Abbey, London on 20 Novemebr 1947.
Princess Elizabeth was born on 21 April 1926, the first child of the Duke and Dutchess of York. In 1936, on the abdication of King Edward VIII, the Duke and Duchess became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (now Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) and Princess Elizabeth heir presumptive to the throne.
The Duke of Edinburgh, formally His Royal Highness Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, was born on 10 June 1921, on the Greek island of Corfu, the only son of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.
In January 1952 The Princess and Duke, on behalf of the King, left England for a tour of East Africa, Australaia and New Zealand. However,on 6 February, while holidaying in Kenya, King George VI died. Princes Elizabeth immediately returned to England as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, she was crowned on 2 June 1953 in Westminster Abbey.
Golden Wedding anniversay stamp depicts The Queen wearing the Star and Sash of the Order of the Garter and the Sovereign's Badge of The Queen's Service Order (a distinctive New Zealand Order instituted in 1975). The Duke is wearing the uniform of an Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal New Zealand Navy (appointed 1958).
